Michael Balas

Rewritten: With a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Vermont and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Balas has dedicated his career to the care of animals. He graduated with highest honors and honed his skills further during a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. Before pursuing veterinary school, he worked with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a non-profit organization that trains service dogs for the visually impaired and children with autism.

Dr. Balas has a passion for internal medicine, clinical pathology, animal behavior, and teaching. He values the opportunity to not only help animals but also educate others in the field.

Originally from the suburbs of New York City, Dr. Balas now calls Seattle home with his wife, who is also a veterinarian, and their child. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, playing tennis and volleyball, and spending time with his menagerie of pets.
