Greg Thompson

Dr. Greg Thompson made his grand debut at SVA in the summer of 2021 and immediately caused a stir with his youthful looks. But don’t be fooled by his baby face, he’s been around the block a few times! Initially, he had aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player but quickly realized that it wasn’t meant to be. Thank goodness he discovered his true calling in veterinary medicine, where his passion for animals and hard work has brought him to where he is today.

After receiving a BS in Biology from Purdue University in 2008, Dr. Thompson spent some time living in Madison, Wisconsin doing pharmaceutical research. He then went on to earn his veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014 and completed a large animal internship in Seattle. With a thirst for adventure, he traveled the country practicing mixed and small animal medicine before finally returning to the Pacific Northwest where he feels right at home.

When he’s not tending to the furry friends at SVA, Dr. Greg can be found out and about in Seattle, enjoying all the outdoor recreation the city has to offer. He loves camping, snowboarding, golfing, and even foot golfing (yes, you read that right!). At home, he’s surrounded by a pack of pets, including Bettis, a tough-looking AmStaff with a big heart (really, it’s a problem) who’s always by his side.

Dr. Greg is a true people person and is excited to be a part of the Seattle Veterinary Associates family. He wants you to know that you can call him by any name, whether it’s Dr. Greg, Dr. Thompson, or just plain Greg. After all, as the youngest of four boys, he’s been called much worse!
