Meet Green Lake Animal Hospital’s Miracle Mitch!

Here’s what Mitch’s Mom had to say:

Mitch was a stray kitten 4 months old when I adopted him in August, 1994. Later I learned he had been born around the corner and had wandered off. Mitch loves attention from people but he does not like other cats. In his first year he learned to use a tiny upstairs window and a tree to go in and out while I was at work. There were many people going for walks on my street near Greenlake. Mitch would flop down in front of everyone begging to be petted.

After I retired and was outside gardening people would stop and tell me “we just LOVE your cat”. He liked to bring home pine cones from a neighbor’s yard across the street. In the morning I would find a trail of pine cones from their house to mine, in the middle of the street, along the sidewalk, on my porch. Eventually they got a small dog and that stopped the pine cones. But they told me Mitch loved to sit on top of their fence and torment their dog! The little dog barked and barked but Mitch would not move. Now I have moved to a different house, and I had my kitchen remodeled. My good-natured contractor told me that Mitch always laid on his tools right in the middle of everything. He was always curious about what people were doing.

At age 20 Mitch lays around a lot now. A couple of years ago he thought up the notion of nudging my hand when he wants his head massaged. He does that day or night, including times like 3 am. And now he flops on the floor for ME to pet him. He often yowls loudly at me in the morning to get me out of bed to let him outside. Dr. Mortimer says he is in very good shape for his age. He is such a GOOD cat about taking the pills he needs.

I’ve started calling him Miracle Mitch. I’m so lucky to still have him!
