Nicca joined Seattle Veterinary Associates in 2026. She holds a B.S. in Public Health-Global Health from the University of Washington. Her interest in the veterinary field stemmed from working with macaques at a research facility, as well as taking a One Health class during their undergraduate studies. Both experiences reshaped her perspective on veterinary medicine and public health, revealing how deeply intertwined the two fields are. This realization inspired a strong interest in eventually working in wildlife conservation, rehabilitation, and research, particularly with primates and vulnerable species. Nicca hopes to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) and attend veterinary school to earn their DVM, applying the One Health framework to her future work.
Outside of work and academics, Nicca is a self-described homebody who enjoys binge-watching TV shows, building miniature kits, and relaxing at home. However, she also loves immersing herself in nature through long drives or walks with her dog. Dedicated to giving back, Nikka volunteers at both Seattle Humane and the University District Food Bank. She shares her home with Scarlett, a terrier-mix who loves butt scratches and pup cups, and Zero, an attention-loving tabby cat who will happily roll on the floor or sit on a working laptop to be noticed.
